RDW has been broke since July 20, 1979. If ever obliged by the IRS to summarize his estate and assets, he would provide a list of the cereal boxes atop his fridge. Currently these number 11: it’s been a good month.
Concerning spiritual wealth, however, RDW is paralleled by none except perhaps the Dalai Lama, who RDW met once and beat at chess. The Lama issued a statement afterward blaming his loss on the distracting questions asked by RDW during the bout. RDW replied that if he could focus while asking the questions, his Lama-ness ought to be able to focus while answering them. In the end, however, the two remain spiritual allies and agree that the purpose of life is to seek happiness.
